Padova Science Technology & Innovation Studies (Pa.S.T.I.S.) was founded in 2008. The institute, sited within the University of Padua's (Italy) Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology (FISPPA), brings together scientists and researchers focusing on media, science, technology and innovation. The spectrum of topics covered at Pa.S.T.I.S. includes innovation processes, science communication and many other topic areas. It is wider than the scope of "science research" pure and simple (as the field is known in Germany) or of the "Science and Technology Studies" (STS) referred to in an international context. In addition to research, the Pa.S.T.I.S. team's major activities include knowledge transfer and exchange to and with national and international institutes, public and private organisations and numerous other stakeholders.
