The LH Martin Institute, housed at the University of Melbourne, links research on higher education with related teaching and continuing education. It maintains an international network of links, both throughout the surrounding region and worldwide. Its research focuses especially on higher education management. The most important issues studied at the institute include the development and training of staff at higher education institutions, productivity and performance at/of higher education institutions, and interfaces between vocational training and higher education.
