The Center for International Higher Education(CIHE), housed in the Lynch School of Education (LSOE) at Boston College, was established in 1995. As a research institution, it focuses especially on internationalisation of higher education institutions, on developments in the higher education systems of Asia and Africa, and on developments in higher education systems that are financed primarily privately. It also maintains a special focus on higher education institutions with Catholic and Jesuit affiliations. CIHE publishes the quarterly publication "International Higher Education," and since 2016 it has offered a master's degree programme in "International Higher Education."
